BasiloBio Confirms the Mechanism That Suppresses Avian Influenza

Experiments confirmed that PG, BasiloBio's lead natural-product antiviral candidate, impairs the function of the NPC1 protein that avian influenza viruses rely on to enter cells. Across tested concentrations, viral entry was progressively blocked while cell viability was maintained, as shown in the dose-response graph.

The finding matters beyond avian influenza: viruses with a similar envelope-mediated entry strategy could face the same barrier. BasiloBio will build on this mechanism to advance its antiviral materials and application portfolio.
